This
year will be an exciting, but challenging year for us. We added the Frostbite 5K in December and it joins the November
Turkey Chase 7K as another major fund raiser for our programs.

And the United Way campaign looks promising this year. But, we have a challenge in replacing our retiring
executive director. Pat Bowers has expressed her desire to retire by the end of the year after serving over three decades
with us. Our search committee certainly has an important responsibility before it. And we are
looking forward to working with our two new board members, Leroy Crull of Milton and Brandon Coyle of Liberty. They
replace Linda Sittloh and Pam Haager. Easter Seals has helped children and adults with disabilities in Wayne
and Union Counties since 1948. For those who have helped in the past, we thank you and ask for your continued support.
For those who are not aware of what we provide, why not give us a call? Easter Seals loans convalescent
equipment for those in need. We have wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, portable commodes and entrance ramps. We
provide therapeutic trikes for children and young adults who have never had the pleasure of riding a bike. At the same
time it provides them with therapy. Each year we plan a fun day for over 100 children with disabilities
at Activity Day in May at the Kuhlman Center, special camps for individuals with disabilities in June and July and a day at
the Indiana State Fair in August. Our specially trained presenters teach Disability Awareness classes to 1st and 4th
graders in our local schools. We also award a $500 scholarship to a high school graduate pursuing a health-related or
educational career with individuals with disabilities.
