Three new members have joined the Easter Seals Board of Directors in 2008.
They are Leroy Crull of Milton, David Brock of Fountain City and Landon Coyle of Liberty.
Kathie Baumer, a former board member and board president, has rejoined the board
after an absence of one year.

REMC awards grant
Easter Seals Wayne and Union Counties has received $1,000 thanks to the
members of Whitewater Valley REMC. The grant will help support its disability awareness program, "Awareness of Individual Differences."

Cain and Kevin Smith, along with Whitewater Valley REMC Director Administrative Services and Corporate Development, Mary Jo
Thomas, present the check to Bill Felker, president of the Easter Seals board.
"This program is presented to first and fourth graders at Liberty Elementary, Northeastern
Elementary, Western Wayne Elementary, Centervlle Elementary, Rose Hamilton Elementary and all of the Richmond Community Schools
elementary schools," according to Felker.
The donations were part of a special program, Operation Round Up, where members
of Whitewater Valley REMC volunteer to round up their monthly electric bills to support the mission of the WWV REMC Community
Trust, Inc. The next application deadline is January 8, 2008 and applications can be requested from the REMC office
or downloaded from the REMC web site at www.wwvremc.com.

Easter Seals sends its thanks to Mary Lou and Paul Stall of Centerville for planting
and keeping up the flower box around the orgranization's sign in front of the office on National Road West. They are
the parents of Arick and Alex, who have been interns at the office in the past.

By exceeding its goal, United Way of Whitewater Valley was able to meet Easter Seals request this year.
The campaign raised $810,260... some 36-thousand dollars over its goal.

Easter Seals Board President Bill Felker and Executive Director Pat Bowers represented
the organization at the 2008 Annual Meeting of United Way at Forest Hills Country Club Thursday, April 24.
Theme of the meeting was "Live United." Each speaker told of how they have
volunteered in the community. 2007 Campaign Chairman James Stapleton was named United Way Volunteer of the Year.
Easter Seals receives funding for its Camping and Medical Supplies and Equipment
programs.

Clue Hunt Winners named
Winners of the Clue Hunt Contest have been announced. Winner of the Grand Prize of "A Taste of Wayne
County" is Catherine Marino of Richmond. She won dinner certificates to ten area restaurants.
Second prize winner is Lisa Pardieck of Richmond - a 6 month membership to the Richmond
Athletic Club.
Third prize goes to Sharon Fields of Liberty who win a complimentary overnight Guestroom
(with Jacuzzi) and Hot Breakfast for two at the Holiday Inn in Richmond.
And fourth prize winner is Sadie Reffitt of Fountain City - $100 in gift certificates
for gasoline given by NATCO Credit Union - westside.
The late Larmar Lundy of Richmond was the Mystery Person.

Grant Awarded
Easter Seals Wayne and Union Counties has been awarded a $16,749 grant from the
Stamm Koechlein Family Foundation. The grant will help fund the Disabilities Awareness Program in the Richmond Community Schools.
The Foundation's web site states: "Our Focus is primarily funding organizations
in the city of Richmond in Wayne County Indiana. In the past we have sought out and invited organizations who met our
criteria to apply to our foundation. We are very interested in organizations whose purpose is to make a difference
for children and young adults. This can encompass many areas—education, recreation, health, and enrichment."
29 persons from Easter Seals attended the Indiana State Fair on Monday, August 13. These included 15
kids who had signed up for the annual event.
After arriving at the fairground shortly after 9 a.m. they visited the Swine Barn,
Draft Horse Barn and watched the horse show in the Coliseum. They then walked across the street to the Old National
Bank Grand Hall and then to the Pioneer Our Land Pavilion.
After lunch they had some free time. During the afternoon they went to the
Farm Bureau Building, Pioneer Village and Rley Fun Park. Before leaving for home the watched the Kachunga
& the Alligoar show and the Circus Parade on Biofuel Main Street and then the walked to the AT&T Main Stage for Smiley's
Kid Idol: Jasmine Rowsey Show.
